Is your coastal preservation group prepared for the warm weather season? How do you respond to emergencies?

On Cape Cod, community groups started something new last year.... At the start of hurricane season, environmentalists, emergency services organizations, religious and neighborhood associations, and others, work together to prepare coastal communities for emergencies. Hurricanes are one concern, but there's also a need to educate people about other warm weather concerns. Including water safety, exposure to heat and strong sunlight, etc.

This year's "Cape Cod Prepares Day" will be celebrated on Monday, June 2nd, in front of the county courthouse in Barnstable.... This event will begin at noon. The public is invited.... Emergency services agencies will be recognized and thanked. Information about emergency services programs (and volunteer opportunities) will be available.... It's a good opportunity to collect information for your coastal project or program.
