spring is rather startling. This workshop, our sixth, students have assembled
stories about a new and experimental deep-sea diving suit, a poetry group for
senior citizens, eel poaching, and a drummer with a hook for a hand. See what I
mean?”</p><p class="MsoNormal"><o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p>Since early April, nine beginning radio students have been living in
Woods Hole learning the craft of telling stories with sound. The students range
in age from early 20's to mid 40's, and come from as nearby as Nantucket and as
far away as Los Angeles. The stories they’ve produced focus on our local area,
and we expect some of the people they’ve profiled or talked with will be in the
audience. A question and answer period
will follow each piece.</p><p class="MsoNormal"><o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p>Executive Director, Jay Allison says, “It's always great to see the
community turn out for this event –– to discover what the students have
discovered, to meet the people they've met. And it's especially great to
realize that all these stories exist right here, right under our noses.”</p><p class="MsoNormal"><o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal">The listening event will precede a brief graduation ceremony and the
public is urged to join us in applauding <i>Transom
Story Workshop’s</i> sixth graduating class.
