Naturescape Gallery at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History is proud to
present New York City artist John Small. John’s work contains a narrative
that streams from a conscious effort to blur the lines between natural
history and pseudo-science, creating a collection of work that represents
a fictional expedition. His paintings, sculptures and various other
collections work together as an installation, or can be seen as an
individual puzzle piece, which gives a greater perspective of his views
on the environment both past and present, and his connection to it. This
connection to the environment is used as a means of storytelling and
exploration. For his exhibition at the Museum, John puts his considerable
talents and love of Cape Cod’s birdlife on to the canvas as well as
creating an outdoor interactive vitrine “sculpture” for the birding
public to participate in. Join the fun!<br>
