</div><div style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:12.727272033691406px"><br>The Center for Coastal Studies is collaborating with the towns of Truro and Wellfleet to characterize and quantify the natural dynamics of the town’s Cape Cod Bay shoreline. The study, funded by a grant from the Massachusetts Bays Program, will identify sediment sources and sinks and calculate the volume, rate and direction of sediment movement along this section of the shore. This information is crucial to predicting future changes to the position, shape and size of the shoreline, and will allow the towns to identify vulnerable areas that may be subject to erosion. <div>
<br></div><div>On Monday, August 19th from 4-6 pm at the Wellfleet Council on Aging, Center for Coastal Studies scientists and planning and conservation staff from the towns of Truro and Wellfleet will provide an overview of the study. Truro and Wellfleet residents and summer visitors are encouraged to participate and share information on their observations of historical changes and extreme erosion events along this shoreline. </div>
