From July 22nd through July 26th, teens will assist scientists conducting environmental monitoring projects and discover what field work is all about. They will learn to use various types of scientific equipment and practice protocols for identifying marine life, monitoring rare birds, measuring water quality and analyzing data. Included in registration is a canoe trip in Waquoit Bay and a boat trip out to Washburn Island to collect marine specimens. Students will also learn about and visit the site of a groundbreaking research study focusing on sea level rise and how salt marshes store carbon. They will learn about science careers while working with Reserve staff on the beach, in the salt marsh and in the lab and will make connections with other teens that share their interests. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Tahoma","sans-serif";color:black'> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Tahoma","sans-serif";color:black'>If you are, or know, a teen who is interested in science, likes to explore outdoors and wants to enhance their college application with a worthwhile experience then sign-up today.
