<p class="MsoNormal">During this water sector workshop, participants will discuss recent Hurricanes that have impacted the Northeast and lessons learned from these incidents, including key players in Hurricane Sandy response. The purpose is to help inform future
water utility preparedness and resiliency actions and ways federal and state partners can work together with the water sector to address any remaining issues. In the afternoon, participants will learn about the Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC),
and how water utilities can utilize this interstate mutual aid and assistance program and how it would best work with each state’s own intrastate WARN program A discussion will take place to inform future actions to help make the water sector’s use of EMAC
more efficient and effective.<o:p></o:p></p>
