For thousands of years,
the ocean has been a human dumping ground for all our waste. In the
21st Century we are starting to discover that all that waste is
affecting life in the ocean. Marine Debris ranks as one of the top
threats to our marine environment. Learn about this scourge, how it is
related to climate change, and what we can do to reduce its impacts.

The Ocean Futures Lecture Series looks at some of the largest
threats facing the ocean as we begin a new century. It will explore our local changing marine
ecosystem and highlight some of the more unusual events over the past
year, while offering solutions to help protect our fragile blue planet.
