<p class="MsoNormal">Join Anne Giblin, Senior Scientist at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, for a presentation that will help us understand how increased nitrogen inputs alter nitrogen cycling in salt marshes, how salt marshes remove excess nitrogen,
and how sewage treatment plants utilize some of these same mechanisms. This talk will also address the pros and cons of ocean outfalls. John Portnoy, former ecologist for the Cape Cod National Seashore, will deliver an introduction on the benefits of salt
marshes. Giblin and Portnoy will be joined by Mass Audubon regional scientist Robert Buchsbaum for a panel discussion with the audience. Light refreshments will be served.<span style="color:#1F497D">

<p class="MsoNormal">Endangered right whales stop-over in Cape Cod Bay each spring to feed in the zooplankton-rich waters. Join us at Herring Cove and Race Point in Provincetown for a chance to observe right whales from the shores of local beaches. We'll bring
whale bones and other artifacts to explore, and tell stories about whale evolution, adaptations, and conservation. We'll look at the latest sightings the day before and contact you via email with directions to the meeting site. Please let us know if you prefer

<p class="MsoNormal">The Bald Eagle is one of the most recognizable and impressive birds in North America. Although it was chosen as our national symbol, it was a victim of our progress. Disappearing from Massachusetts on the heels of deforestation, the Bald
Eagle was later driven to near extinction across the continent by the unintended impacts of DDT, and related agricultural pesticides. Restoration efforts in Massachusetts were initiated in 1982 at Quabbin Reservoir by MassWildlife and a number of partners,
including Mass Audubon. As the breeding population continues to grow and expand across the state, Bald Eagles are becoming a familiar sight, and expectations of the first modern nest on Cape Cod are increasing. Join Thomas French, Ph.D., the Director of the
Natural Heritage and Endangered Species Program for the MA Division of Fish and Wildlife for a beautifully illustrated history of the restoration efforts and many successes that have followed.
