color:black'>Steve Spear began farming in East Dennis in 1973, growing
blueberries, strawberries and vegetables. In 1983 he gave up everything but the
blueberries when he began working for the Natural Resources Conservation
Service, an agency in the US Dept. of Agriculture which provides conservation
advice to large landowners.</span></font></p>
