The Narragansett Bay Reserve is located on four islands in the middle of Narragansett Bay and is one of 28 reserves in a national system of protected areas located on each of America’s coasts. Reserve headquarters are located on Prudence Island and are only accessible by ferry. Though significant funding and program support come from NOAA, the Reserve is managed locally though RIDEM with a number of partnerships and cooperative agreements. This position is supported through a cooperative agreement with the Audubon Society of Rhode Island.
