The Woods Hole Research Center (Center) is widely acclaimed
for leadership in addressing the great, global environmental issues of our time
through science and policy. Based on a 10 acre campus near the village of
Woods Hole, Massachusetts, the Center has an annual operating budget of about
$11 million and employs a staff of some 55 individuals, most scientists, whose
work is currently heavily focused on understanding and protecting the
world’s forests and other ecosystems and in addressing key issues
concerning ecology and climate change. The Center’s work includes major
projects in North and South America, Africa, and Asia.
