12.0pt'>Michael Lach, Executive Director of the Harwich Conservation Trust and
Peter Johnson, Vice President of the Brewster Conservation Trust, will talk to
us about the land conservation history and successes of the nonprofit Brewster
Conservation Trust. Founded in 1983, the mission of the Brewster
Conservation Trust is to protect open space, water bodies and watersheds, wildlife
habitat, and the natural characteristics of the Town of </span></font>Brewster.
The Trust acquires land by gift or purchase, helps landowners restrict
development of their property, and partners with the Town of Brewster and other
organizations to encourage sound conservation practices. The Trust has
helped to</p>

12.0pt'>Michael Lach is Executive Director of the Harwich Conservation Trust
and Assistant Director of The Compact of Cape Cod Conservation Trusts. He
has also written environmental features for the The Cape Cod Chronicle and has
contributed eco-travel articles to The Cape Cod Times. Michael attended </span></font>Cornell
University and the University of Massachusetts and has called Cape Cod home since
1976. With his wife, son, and daughter, he enjoys the natural beauty that
makes Cape Cod special.</p>

retailer (Johnson's Bookstore, Springfield, MA), skilled goof-off, member of
the Museum's trail crew and VP of the Brewster Conservation Trust.</p>
