in part from a research project “Climate as Common Ground”
conducted by Lisa Greber (<a href="mailto:lisa.greber0001@umb.edu">lisa.greber0001@umb.edu</a>
), a graduate student at UMass Boston, who was awarded a NOAA fellowship for
this work. While based at the Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research
Reserve, she has interviewed religious leaders and held focus groups with
congregants in the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Upper</st1:PlaceName>
<st1:PlaceType w:st="on">Cape</st1:PlaceType></st1:place> area to learn about
their interests in climate change and environmental issues. As a result
of her interviews, she found leaders requesting a “nuts and bolts”
workshop to help them reduce both their energy bills and their greenhouse gas
emissions. She is glad to work on this event with religious leaders in this
community who have shared these concerns for many years. <o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
