Hinkle received a Ph.D in Physics from Pennsylvania State University in 1989, worked at MKS Instrments, taught advanced math and science at Falmouth High School for five years, and is the Founder of My Generation Energy, a solar energy installation and development company based in Brewster. He also serves on the Board of Directors for a science society, AVS, with over 3000 international members focusing on advancing technologies associated with renewable energy.<br />
