Mr. Godwin was an Associate Professor of Photography at
Texas A&M-Commerce (TAMU-C) where he was employed
for 30 years. In 2005 he received the "Star of Texas"
award for his lengthy contribution to photographic education. He taught a large
variety of courses including Basic B&W, Color, Nature and Wildlife, Visual
Perception and Digital Imaging and was the lead for one of the first 5 digital
programs in a US
university.

Continuing to shoot professionally and personally, Mr. Godwin has
led over 30 workshops. His photography has been published in hundreds of
magazines, newspapers and books over the last three decades and has been shown
in galleries and on the web. He is a past President of the Photo Imaging
Education Association and currently serves as Consultant to that group.

Students with basic DSLR knowledge and/or students from any of Mr.
Godwin's previous classes are welcome. Knowledge of shooting and handling RAW
images is highly recommended! Note: the schedule allows for two Saturday field
This will be a shooting class. The ideal student has a deep love of
nature, a photo quality inkjet printer and Photoshop® or Photoshop Elements® on
their home computer. Techniques and aesthetics of shooting in nature will be
discussed as well as archiving and printing images on home computers and/or
through local professional labs.
tripod and/or monopod, owner’s manual for your camera, memory card(s),
charged batteries.
