<p><span class=headline1>Seasonal Naturalist </span><br>
Location: Barnstable, MA<o:p></o:p></p>
<p>Long Pasture is seeking an enthusiastic Teacher Naturalist to teach hands-on
environmental education on our Marine Life Cruises educational program. Through
the use of various fishing and sampling equipment, this program will introduce
participants to sea life and marine ecology. A data collection and citizen
science component will also be integrated into the program. <o:p></o:p></p>
<p>Responsibilities include assisting in development of educational activities
and interpretive materials for the cruises and teaching this educational
program to youth, families and adults. This position is for 40 hours, 20
of which can be flexibly scheduled and include program planning and
development, while the remaining 20 hours include program execution in the
months of July and August and are pre-determined.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p><b>Qualifications</b>: Must have experience as interpreter, naturalist or
teacher, and have knowledge of local marine biology, and ability to identify
marine life. Candidate must enjoy working with children and care about
the natural world. Must have ability to work both cooperatively and
independently and the capacity to interact well with the public. Must be
capable of working effectively on a cruise boat in potentially choppy seas and
able to lift 20 lbs. Knowledge of Cape Cod natural history and local marine
ecosystems helpful. <o:p></o:p></p>
<p><b>Benefits</b>: Pay is $12.50 pr hour.<o:p></o:p></p>
