Reserve is hosting a gardening workshop on Tuesday, March 19<SUP>th</SUP> from

Cod</SPAN></st1:place><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: Garamond"> as well as techniques
on organic gardening. Participants are invited to arrive between

style="FONT-FAMILY: Garamond">Jessie Gunnard, Coordinator of the Buy Fresh, Buy
Local Cape Cod Program, Cape Cod Cooperative Extension, will reveal where

style="FONT-FAMILY: Garamond">Cape</SPAN></st1:PlaceType><SPAN
style="FONT-FAMILY: Garamond"> </SPAN><st1:PlaceName><SPAN
style="FONT-FAMILY: Garamond">Codders</SPAN></st1:PlaceName></st1:place><SPAN
style="FONT-FAMILY: Garamond"> can purchase and eat foods that are grown locally
and highlight the benefits of local foods. Stan Ingram will teach participants
about the process of growing their own food-from soils and seeds, to working
with the season’s challenges of weather, diseases and insects; right through to
a healthy harvest. He’ll also give tips on extending the growing season. Stan,
who grew up working on truck farms in </SPAN><st1:place><SPAN
style="FONT-FAMILY: Garamond">Southeast Massachusetts</SPAN></st1:place><SPAN
style="FONT-FAMILY: Garamond">, was the Garden Manager at New Alchemy Institute
in the 1980s. Stan recently returned to the </SPAN><st1:place><SPAN
style="FONT-FAMILY: Garamond">Cape</SPAN></st1:place><SPAN
style="FONT-FAMILY: Garamond"> from a few years growing his own food in
</SPAN><st1:State><st1:place><SPAN
style="FONT-FAMILY: Garamond">Maine</SPAN></st1:place></st1:State><SPAN
style="FONT-FAMILY: Garamond"> to start a Community Supported Agriculture
program at Coonemessett Farm in Hatchville and is presently the field manager
there. Joan Muller, Education Coordinator at the Waquoit Bay Reserve will
introduce the program with an overview of the environmental benefits of organic
gardening and farming.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>
