This classic book published in 1928 was written while Beston spent a year alone in a cottage on Coast Guard Beach in Eastham. His meditations and musings over the four seasons are filled with references to birds, giving us a snapshot of avian life on th</FONT><FONT COLOR="#000000" FACE="Times New Roman">e</FONT><FONT COLOR="#000000" FACE="Times New Roman"> outer beach during the 1920s. In a special lecture,</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"><B></B></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"><B> <FONT COLOR="#000000" FACE="Times New Roman">Mass Audubon sanctuary director Bob Prescott will discuss this famous author</FONT><FONT COLOR="#000000" FACE="Times New Roman">’</FONT><FONT COLOR="#000000" FACE="Times New Roman">s observations and encounters with birds and compare that with bird populations now.</FONT></B></SPAN></P>
