<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:12.0pt'>I&#8217;m very excited to
invite you to the first <b>*Folk for Feathers Festival*</b> &#8211; a benefit
concert for Coastal Waterbird Program and Long Pasture Wildlife Sanctuary
&#8211; <b>Friday, Sept 5<sup>th</sup> starting at 6:00 pm</b>. Come enjoy an
outdoor concert as the sun sets over scenic Barnstable Harbor on the lawn of
Long Pasture &#8211; a beautiful setting, and an incredible line-up of
performers. Four of Boston&#8217;s finest folk stars, Jake Armerding, Edie
Carey, Rose Cousins and Oen Kennedy will perform in the round, with surprise
guest performers and local band Just Another Guru opening the show. <span
style='color:black'>This event will be a great opportunity for people of all
ages to enjoy world class acoustic music as the sun sets over Barnstable

<p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:black'>We encourage people to bring lawn chairs
or blankets and enjoy a picnic on the lawn as they take in the music and
spectacular scenery. Drinks and desserts will be available for sale, and we
will have a raffle with special donated prizes. All proceeds from the Folk for
Feathers Festival will benefit Mass Audubon&#8217;s Long Pasture Wildlife
Sanctuary and the Coastal Waterbird Program. The concert will feature four
performers that have graced stages in Boston and beyond in various
combinations, but never all together performing in the round. Their
musicianship has been praised far and wide, and this event provides the first
opportunity for them to collaborate musically in unexpected ways.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

Armerding</span></a> artfully improvising on mandolin, violin, and guitar, one
never knows what magical musical moments will happen. The Boston Globe calls
Jake Armerding the most gifted and promising songwriter to emerge from the
Boston folk scene in years. <a href="http://www.ediecarey.com" target="_blank"><span
style='color:#0000CC'>Edie Carey</span></a> tours non-stop nationally, picking
up numerous awards at festivals like Telluride and Kerrville. Carey is known
for her unmistakable honeyed voice, her intelligent, heart-grabbing songs, but perhaps
most especially for her warm, engaging presence on and offstage.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:black'><a
href="http://www.rosecousins.com" target="_blank"><span style='color:#0000CC'>Rose
Cousins</span></a> from Halifax, Nova Scotia will wow the audience with her unaffected
voice and genuine, powerful song-writing that have earned her great respect and
recognition locally and internationally. Rose and Edie Carey often appear on
stage together, sharing a rapport and haunting harmonies that will have the
audience alternately laughing and in tears. <a href="http://www.oenkennedy.com"
target="_blank"><span style='color:#0000CC'>Oen Kennedy</span></a> integrates
everything from West African rhythms to bird songs into his music, with an
incredible gift for representing the beauty of nature in musical form - perfect
for this benefit concert for birds and a beautiful sanctuary. This unique night
of music will be full of surprises, spontaneous joy and spontaneous creative
collaborations.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
