appeal as one possible alternative for managing wastewater. Viewed as an
“in- between” approach when compared to utilizing individual onsite
septic systems or centralized sewering, they are reputed to be cost effective
and to offer certain benefits such as preservation of open space and
conservation of water resources. This workshop will define cluster
systems and examine their viability and appropriateness for meeting wastewater
treatment goals. Special consideration will be given to addressing
performance related to removing wastewater nitrogen as well as operation and
maintenance issues. The session will be particularly meaningful to those
involved in wastewater planning efforts at the municipal and county levels.</span></font> </p>
