particularly the salt marsh behind it are spectacular in the fall. Waterfowl
and other avian life can be observed against the backdrop of red and gold
colors exhibited by the marsh plants. Along the trail, Waquoit Bay Reserve
Stewardship Intern, Andrew Tweel, will share his knowledge and love of salt
marshes as he details efforts to restore the marsh at </span></font><font
size=2 face=Arial><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:Arial'>South</span></font><font
size=2 face=Arial><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:Arial'> </span></font><font
size=2 face=Arial><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:Arial'>Cape</span></font><font
size=2 face=Arial><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:Arial'>. He will
describe the importance of salt marshes and how they function and explain why
the restoration work is needed. You will learn about the Reserve’s
monitoring efforts to document species that utilize the marsh as you are
introduced to both native and non-native plants and animals that are found
there. Andrew will explain the methods used during a restoration process and
possible outcomes for the future.</span></font></p>
