Friday, July 27 at 7:30 pm. Dr. Eric Jay Dolin will talk about his new <I>book
Leviathan: The History of Whaling in America</I> at the Cape Cod Museum of
Natural History. $5/members; $7/non-members.<BR> <BR>Dr. Dolin’s book
chronicles in an epic one-volume history the rise and fall of whaling in North
America and the major role Cape Cod played in this dangerous and violent
industry. Historical sources, archival photographs and paintings, and individual
stories of whale men and whales bring to life 300 years of whaling.
<I>Leviathan</I> provides a comprehensive and fascinating view of this lucrative
yet brutal industry that shaped American culture, economy and fortunes. A
