<DIV>The environmental justice movement is starting to develop on Cape
Cod. There's a new emphasis, in some places, on bringing human
rights advocates and environmentalists together to address issues like global
warming, energy policy, and housing.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>These are some of the justice-related events scheduled for the near
future.</DIV>

<DIV>SATURDAY, DECEMBER 9th: Annual Human Rights Day gathering at
Cape Cod Community College, in Barnstable. Starts at 9:00 am.
Sponsored by the Barnstable County Human Rights Commission.... Everyone is
invited.... Local environmentalists will distribute complete copies of the
Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Basic information about energy and
human rights will be available.</DIV>

<DIV>SUNDAY, DECEMBER 10th: The Sunday service at the Unitarian
Universalist church in Falmouth will be a celebration of Human Rights Day and
the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize. Nancy Jack Todd, one of
the New Alchemy co-founders, will be the special guest speaker..... She
will discuss "Human Rights and the Environment." Everyone is
invited.... The Sunday service begins at 9:30. For

<DIV>MONDAY, JANUARY 1st: Religious and community groups will gather
on New Years Day in Woods Hole to reflect on energy, human rights, and global
warming.... This event will start at 11:00 am at the Woods Hole Community
Hall.... Sponsors include the Falmouth Clergy Association and the Sierra
Club's Cape Cod and Islands Group... There will be a collection to
help support the work of the Housing Assistance Corporation..... At noon,
the annual New Years Day walk around Eel Pond will begin. It's a
family event with costumes, noisemakers, and rainbow flags....
Everybody will be welcomed! It's a Woods Hole tradition.</DIV>
