Lecture on Duxbury Beach this Wednesday at Battelle Labs in Duxbury (see
details below).<br>

Jim O'Connell from the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution Sea Grant Program
& Cape Cod Cooperative Extension will discuss shoreline change and storm
impacts on Duxbury Beach and the Duxbury Beach Reservation's managment measuure
to bring in sand to rebuild the beaches and dunes; followed by Joe Grady,
Duxbury Conservation Agent, who will discuss annual efforts to re-build miles
of snow/sand fencing and beach grass planting and fertilization to assist
nature in dune restoration; ending with Al Vautrinot, Duxbury Beavh Reservation
VP, who will discuss future management measures to preserve and balance the
barrier beach enviromment for pedestrians, wildlife and ORVs. Battelle representatives
will present the results of the recent Duxbury Beach sweep/cleanup.<br>
