Impervious surfaces (rooftops, driveways, etc.) shed
rainwater often containing pollutants that eventually reach streams,
ponds, and
bays. Local, state, and federal regulations/policies now encourage
stormwater
management to protect water resources and replicate nature’s
hydrological
cycle. Learn about the opportunities and
responsibilities facing the Green Industry and homeowners as
communities are
embracing the concepts of Low Impact Development. Topics
include: rain gardens, riparian
buffers, green roofs, porous pavement, cisterns and dry wells, and
groundwater
recharge.
