The National Sea Grant Office recently announced four fellowship
opportunities:<br>
<br>
<b>Applications for the following three fellowships are due to the
Woods Hole Sea Grant Program by <font color="#990000">4:00 p.m. on
February 10, 2006</font></b>:<br>
<br>
<u>National Marine Fisheries Services - Sea Grant Joint Graduate
Fellowship Program in Population Dynamics</u><br>
<span class="bodycpy">The Graduate Fellowship Program awards at least
two new Ph.D. fellowships each year to students who are interested in
careers related to the population dynamics of living marine resources
and the development and implementation of quantitative methods for
assessing their status. Fellows will work on thesis problems of public
interest and relevance to NMFS under the guidance of NMFS mentors.</span><br>
<br>
<u>National Marine Fisheries Services - Sea Grant Joint Graduate
Fellowship Program in Marine Resource Economics</u><br>
<span class="bodycpy">The Graduate Fellowship Program awards at least
two new Ph.D. fellowships each year to students who are interested in
careers related to the development and implementation of quantitative
methods for assessing the economics of the conservation and management
of living marine resources. Fellows will work on thesis problems of
public interest and relevance to NMFS under the guidance of NMFS
mentors.</span><br>
<br>
<u>Sea Grant Industry Fellowship Program</u><br>
<span class="bodycpy">The Sea Grant - Industry Fellowship Program
(Industry Fellowship Program), which is available to graduate students
enrolled in either MS or Ph.D. degree programs in institutions of
higher education in the United States and its territories, with
required matching funds from private industrial sponsors, expects to
support up to five new Industry Fellows in FY 2006. Industry Fellows
will work on research and development projects on topics of interest to
a particular industry/company. In a true partnership, the student, the
faculty advisor, the Sea Grant College or institute, and the industry
representative will work together, sharing research facilities and the
cost of the activity.</span> <br>

<br>
<u>Dean John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship</u><br>
<span class="bodycpy">This notice announces that applications may be
submitted for a Fellowship program initiated by the National Oceanic
and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Sea Grant Office (NSGO),
in fulfilling its broad educational responsibilities and legislative
mandate of the Sea Grant Act, to provide educational experience in the
policies and processes of the Legislative and Executive Branches of the
Federal Government to graduate students in marine and aquatic-related
fields.</span><br>
