<DIV>SPECIAL GATHERING IN RESPONSE TO EMERGENCIES</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Hurricane Katrina has created an environmental nightmare on the Gulf
Coast! The reports about urban flooding, pollution, and human
suffering that America has recently seen on television are
terrifying. Environmentalists in coastal areas are asking, "How can
this kind of tragedy be avoided in the future?" "What do we need to
do in the midst of this crisis?"</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>On Sunday afternoon, September 11th, community people in Falmouth will
gather to honor emergency services workers. We will remember the
9/11 tragedies. We will also remember the Hurricane Katrina
crisis... We're still in the midst of hurricane season... </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>The September 11th gathering will take place at 5:00 pm, on the main
village green in Falmouth. If the weather is difficult, we'll move
into one of the local churches... This will be a gathering for prayer and
reflection. Representatives of the fire department, the police
department, and other agencies involved with emergency services will be
present... The event has been developed with support from the Falmouth
Hospital staff and local clergy.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>For additional information about the September 11th gathering, please
telephone the Unitarian Universalist church offices in Falmouth.
TELEPHONE: (508) 457-0449. </DIV>

<DIV>The church office has information for environmentalists, and others, who
would like to be involved with emergency services projects. Please call,
if you can volunteer.</DIV>
