and South Rivers Watershed Association is seeking qualified applicants for the
job of Watershed Restoration Scientist.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">
</SPAN>This position will be partially funded through a grant from the
Massachusetts Bays Program and will report to that program on their
activities.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>The ideal candidate
will have the following qualifications:<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">
</SPAN>strong environmental science background, with a concentration in aquatic
habitats; a Master’s degree or higher focused in marine/aquatic biology,
restoration ecology, or related environmental science or interdisciplinary
environmental science degree.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Must
have the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders, including municipal
officials, community representatives, the Massachusetts Bays National Estuary
Program, federal and state agencies and volunteer groups.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Grant writing experience required.</P>

style="MARGIN: 0pt; mso-layout-grid-align: none"> <o:p></o:p></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0pt; mso-layout-grid-align: none">Candidate
will design, seek funding and implement watershed restoration projects, conduct
field work, manage individual project tasks, meet periodically with the
Massachusetts Bays Program, and develop outreach programs to educate
stakeholders and the general public in regards to watershed projects.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Candidate will have strong written and
verbal communication skills, including an ability to communicate with
non-scientists.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Some local travel
and evening/weekend work are required.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">
</SPAN>The ideal candidate is a hard worker, flexible, able to work under
deadlines, able to work alone and collaboratively, possesses good time
management skills, able to prioritize tasks and multitask, is innovative, and
has a strong desire to make a difference in the environment.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint
and Website application programs, familiarity with GIS a plus.</P>

<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0pt; mso-layout-grid-align: none">The job will
be full-time from May 9th to September 15th and 24 hours per week thereafter
with the option to increase to full-time contingent upon funding
availability.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>The hourly rate for
this job is $17/hour.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>10 paid
holidays and one week of benefit time, no others benefits are offered through
this position.</P>
