Save this date: Thursday, April 28, 2006 for a full-day
special symposium, Water to Water, to be held in conjunction
with the spring meeting of the New England Estuarine Research
Society (NEERS). The symposium and NEERS meeting will be held at
the Captain's Quarters, Route 6, No. Eastham. The Thursday
program includes presentations from diverse perspectives on watersheds
and how they affect estuaries, from the Connecticut River to Cobscook
Bay (ME) to the Nantucket Shelf and from nutrient issues to fish and
shellfish to planning techniques. The public is welcome but space is
limited so please pre-register by going to www.NEERS.org and
click on meetings and then spring meeting. For those interested in
other estuarine research, the regular NEERS meeting will feature
contributed papers on Friday and Saturday morning. A mini-symposium on
salt marshes followed by field trips will be held on Saturday. The
last time NEERS held a meeting on-Cape was a decade ago - the Cape and
issues facing the Cape have changed considerably since then. We hope
to see you there.
