We at NOAA don't have such a matlab tool script at this moment.
These days we are also considering to create similar files in support
of the development of our 'bay forecasting system' products. However,
we don't anticipate this to happen really soon. We'd like to keep
everyone posted on our progress as time goes. <br>

P.S. Rich - FYI, I'm working with CO-OPS modeling team now as a FTE
since beginning this year. Ed and I are drafting a brief
brainstorm-type paragraph on materials to cover for the Gulf of Maine
tidal paper. We are thinking about to arrange a discussion from there
among us three and jump start the paper writing.<br>

<pre wrap="">Hello Zhigang,
I never got around to developing a generalized conversion tool - just little, segmented hacks as I needed them. I might revisit this issue at a later time, but I have nothing to offer at the moment. Sorry...
Nevertheless, I'm still interested, and I look forward to seeing if you get any other responses.
Cheers,

Hello Mark
Have you got a Matlab toolbox for conversions of vertical datum? If so, may I shear it?

Mark,
I don't know of any general Matlab tool to do this, but you should be able to obtain the VDATUM conversion grids in NetCDF format from the
VDATUM folks (Ed Myers and Zizang Yang at NOOA). These are triangle
based grids, generally from ADCIRC, that can then be interpolated in Matlab using triterp.m or other methods. We used this Matlab-based approach in the Gulf of Maine to convert all MLLW and MLW soundings to
MSL. I'm cc'ing Ed and Zizang on this, as they might have a
different solution (or correct me if I'm wrong!)

<pre wrap="">Hi all,
I'm looking for a function (or Toolbox) that could convert elevations
between various vertical datum used in the US, such as NGVD29, NAVD88,
MSL, MLLW, etc. I know there are several packages available from
NOAA (VERTCON and VDatum) that do this, and I may end up using them,
but a Matlab equivalent would streamline my life.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
