In case you are not already familiar, PNNL is a DOE-funded
national laboratory with its main campus in Richland,
Washington and multiple “satellite” campuses and joint
institutes in places like Seattle and College Park,
Maryland, among others. It employs over 4,800 scientists,
engineers, and professionals and accounted for over $1
billion in R&D expenditures in FY2019.

The SCM will join PNNL’s Atmospheric Sciences and Global
Change Division. Leveraging the lab’s world-class
capabilities and expert team of scientists, she/he/they will
be responsible for guiding the direction of PNNL’s growing
coastal modeling and coastal systems science program,
identifying ways in which current work can be extended to
better understand how climate change is impacting, and will
impact, coastal systems. This person will bring deep
modeling experience and have, among many other
opportunities, the chance to build a modeling framework and
set of computational tools that will advance coastal system
science.
