week research cruise to execute independent student
research. Teaching responsibilities include two
semester programs and selected seminars or academic
support projects each year, with up to 14 weeks at sea
in the role of </span><span style="font-size:10pt;">Chief
Scientist. The successful candidate will pursue a
professional agenda of innovative interdisciplinary
teaching and excellent scholarship, and possess the
desire to join and contribute to a deeply committed
educational community. Successful applicants will be
expected to teach courses on a variety of topics
including marine biology, oceanography, marine
ecology, marine conservation and oceanographic field
methods, and possibly also in marine environmental
history and climate change. The candidate will also
supervise independent research projects carried out at
sea. A</span><span style="font-size:10pt;"> Ph.D. in
marine biology, oceanography, or marine science is
required with extensive field experience desired. </span><span
style="font-size:10pt;">Research interests in coral
reef ecosystems and familiarity with molecular biology
analysis techniques </span><span
