position will be based in Puerto Rico, working from
a home office, and will focus primarily on advancing
policy reforms at the Caribbean Fishery Management
Council (CFMC). The ideal candidate will have
demonstrated campaign experience (not necessarily
with environmental or oceans issues, though); speak
and write English and Spanish fluently; have a
professional network in Puerto Rico (i.e. they live
there now or have done so in the past), and are
willing to relocate to Puerto Rico if they currently
live elsewhere. This role will collaboratively work
with the Manager, U.S. Oceans, Caribbean to
implement a body of work that will result in the
establishment of an ecosystem-based approach to
fisheries management. This role will conduct
research and analysis, undertake in-person meetings
with decision makers and stakeholders, lead
coalition and outreach efforts and provide policy
and outreach recommendations to promote Pew's policy
objectives in the U.S. Caribbean region, with a
specific focus on influencing decisions by
the Caribbean Fishery Management Council (CFMC<span>)</span>.</span></li>
