been employed to work with David Montagnes for 10 months, to develop a
free, internet based, user friendly guide to harmful phytoplankton.
You probably already know about it. The website (</font><a

color="#000000">www.liv.ac.uk/hab/intro</font></a><font
color="#000000">) allows easy identification of phytoplankton.
It includes descriptions, environmental, and toxicity data, as
well as practical information on sampling, storing and counting
phytoplankton. Our last estimates indicate that the guide
receives over 4000 hits per week from users all over the world.
However the guide is far from finished. </font></blockquote>

objectives over the following 10 months is to update and develop the
website, increasing its accuracy and detail. We plan to add more
features and descriptions to the species data sheets; for example, key

objective the datasheets need to be critically assessed and examined
by experts (neither David nor I claim to be experts in this
field).</font></blockquote>

know, funds to develop this kind of resource are few, and we rely on
