<P><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">The NRC Institute for Marine Biosciences is respected worldwide for its</FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">research and technology development in marine biosciences, including</FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">state-of-the-art analytical chemistry of biological molecules. IMB features</FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">a broad and integrated suite of marine bioscience and biotechnology</FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">laboratories and an aquaculture research station. IMB is an integrated</FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">systems biology institute with the capability to investigate research</FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">questions from the level of the genome to the whole organism. IMB's</FONT>

<BR><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">toxins and mass spectrometry-proteomics. IMB is also home to the Canadian</FONT>

<BR><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">and help desk available to biologists across Canada. The Institute also has</FONT>

<P><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">The Analytical Chemistry Research Officer will support the mission of NRC</FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">and the Institute for Marine Biosciences by leading a research program of</FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">innovative R&D activities of international scientific and technological</FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">caliber in the field of organic analytical chemistry. The focus of this</FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">position is the development of analytical methods and certified reference</FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">materials for phycotoxins. The incumbent will be responsible for</FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">dissemination of his/her research accomplishments through publication in</FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">high quality journals and presentations at the national and international</FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">levels.</FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">The incumbent will interact with other IMB researchers in the toxin team in</FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">research areas such as Harmful Algal Blooms, Phytoplankton Ecology,</FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">Separation Science and Structural Characterization, and Assay and Analysis</FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">Methods. In addition, the incumbent is expected to interact with the</FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">national and international community. The incumbent is expected to represent</FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">NRC on local, national and international committees related to the above</FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">research and CRMP as appropriate.</FONT>
