procedure for becoming a Fastlane Beta Tester is to email<br>

Please do so and let me know you have signed up.<br>
I would like to see some reporting on this at the next FLEX meeting.<br>

A number of our department Administrative Professionals, the ones
responsible for preparing proposals in FastLane, have expressed an
interest in testing the new version of FastLane. If they create a
proposal there, will SRO still receive emails about submissions and
will I have to go into the new system in order to do the submission?<br>

<p>NSF has been upgrading its FastLane infrastructure to use
state-of-the-art technology. We are looking for participants to use
the FastLane Beta website after November 20, 2007. The Beta group will
experience no difference in the existing FastLane system functionality,
business procedures, or user interface. Both the Beta version and the
production version of FastLane will use the same data base tables. </p>
<p>WHAT WOULD THIS INVOLVE? You would access a special website
whenever you have work to do within FastLane. All your work will be
saved and you will not have to repeat the work on the existing FastLane
site. </p>
<p>WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU NEED HELP ? You will have a special email
address to contact. <br>
WHY ARE YOU BEING CONTACTED? Your organization is a heavy user of
FastLane. We trust your opinions. Anything on the new site that
doesn’t flow well please immediately report to us, we’ll seriously
consider fixing all the issues. </p>
<p>If you are interested in participating, please confirm me by
replying to this email. If others in your office wish to participate,
have them email me. We will contact you with the special URL and
instructions when the Beta environment is ready. </p>
