<pre>Plymouth State University will host a Unidata Regional Workshop on May
18-20, 2008. The workshop will allow for hands on instruction with
Integrated Data Viewer (IDV) software.
IDV is a powerful tool which can be used for analyzing and visualizing
real time and archived geoscience data. IDV provides a simple way to
manipulate and display surface weather observations, radar and satellite
imagery, and forecast model grids in real time, all within a unified
interface. It is also an excellent tool for use in geography, geology
and oceanography, with ability to work with point observations, 2D or 3D
grids, vector data, imagery mapped on the Earth, and most any data
mapped in or on the Earth. The software provides the ability to easily
produce animations and 3D displays. The software is freely available and
will run on Windows, Mac, Linux, and Solaris platforms.
Participants in the workshop will be a mixture of university faculty and
students, research scientists, K-12 teachers, and other interested
individuals from across the New England region. Representatives from
Unidata will be on site to provide tutorials on IDV and to discuss other
Unidata projects and initiatives. Registration and other additional
