      Informatics advisory group will host one more Carpentries workshop
      in 2018. These popular two-day workshops are geared towards
      foundational software development, computational, and data science

      <i>Also note:</i> JP student Craig McLean is one of the Helpers at
      this workshop. I want to thank Craig for contacting JP Reps for
      funding a special-edition JP social hour right after the workshop.
      Instructors (as well as some workshop participants from the WHOI
      technical staff) will be there to chat about how software
      development fits into their scientific careers. We envision the
      social as a means of building a community of fellow data
      scientists and support groups for troubleshooting and coding
      suggestions.
