<div dir="ltr">Hi everyone! <div><br></div><div>The Society for Women in Marine Science (<a href="http://swmsmarinescience.com">SWMS</a>) is planning to hold a symposium at WHOI this fall. Gabi Serrato Marks and I are leading the planning committee, and we're looking to bring a few more people on. </div><div><br></div><div>The time commitment is approximately 5 hours per month in June/July/August, and around 10 hours in September. We will meet approximately once per month in June, July, and August, and then will meet weekly in September. Our meetings are electronic (Skype or Google Hangouts). </div><div><br></div><div>If you know about SWMS and are interested in getting more involved, this is a good way to test it out and see if you'd like to be on our steering committee. On the other hand, if you'd like to try your hand at planning a scientific/society meeting, there is no obligation to join the SWMS steering committee after the symposium!</div><div><br></div><div>If you are interested, please email me back! I am happy to answer any questions you have.</div><div><br></div><div>- Chrissy Hernandez</div><div><br></div><div>Note: SWMS activities are open to all genders, industries, and career stages- and of course all ethnicities, abilities, orientations, and other identities. </div><div><br clear="all"><div><div class="gmail_signature" data-smartmail="gmail_signature"><div dir="ltr"><font color="#666666">Christina Hernandez</font><div><font color="#666666">Graduate Student<br></font><div><font color="#666666">MIT-WHOI Joint Program in Oceanography</font></div><div><font color="#666666">Biology Dept- Llopiz Lab</font></div><div><font color="#666666">MS #33</font></div><div><font color="#666666">508-289-3253</font></div></div></div></div></div>
