The workshop is open to all local postdocs and JP students (WHOI, USGS, MBL, WHRC, etc.) and will be especially useful to those planning to submit job applications this Fall.<br><br>The workshop will meet on Thursdays at lunchtime (12-1:30pm) for a five week series:<br><br>Week 0: Sept 14 -- Panel on Faculty Job Applications<br>Week 1: Sept 21 -- Workshop your Research Statement<br>Week 2: Sept 28 -- Workshop your Teaching Statement<br>Week 3: Oct. 5 -- Workshop your Cover Letter<br>Week 4: Oct. 12 -- Workshop your CV<br><br></div>If you have not yet signed up, but would like to join the workshop, please <b>sign up <a href="https://goo.gl/forms/gBHl7ZWyLQiwUwVn1" target="_blank">here</a> by Friday September 1</b> so that you can be assigned to a group of 3-4 people with
similar application goals for workshopping your materials in weeks 1-4.<br><div><br>A note on scheduling: Your fellow group members will be relying on
your participation so they can have a positive and productive
experience with this workshop, so signing up for a group does constitute a commitment to participate. I know that some people will have
conflicts (missing a week for field work or a conference, or for a
personal or religious conflict, e.g. Week 1 falls on Rosh Hashanah) and
that does not preclude your participation. However, please only sign up if you intend to follow through, and please let me know about conflicts with any particular weeks so I can take that into account in forming groups.
