Information Partners (ESIP), which Woods Hole
Oceanographic Institution is a member.

For those unfamiliar with ESIP, ESIP is an open networked community
that brings together science, data and information technology
practitioners around Earth science issues.

1. Raskin Scholarship - (provides travel
support to the ESIP Federation summer meeting, plus an invited
plenary talk) (next summer's meeting is in Monterey, and several
folks from WHOI including myself plan to attend)

The scholarship is open to a current graduate student in good
standing at an institution affiliated with the ESIP Federation. To
be considered for the scholarship, students must be studying an
Earth science, computer science or closely related discipline and
have an interest in fields related to current technical, scientific
or applied activities of the ESIP Federation.
Applications are due Oct. 1.
2. ESIP Student Fellows - (provides $2000
stipend per yr, plus travel support to both the winter/DC and
summer/Monterey ESIP Federation meetings; looks like it can be
renewed a 2nd yr)

We are currently accepting applications for the 2015 ESIP Student
Fellows. Graduate students and post-docs selected
as ESIP Student Fellows will be interested in bridging the gap
between informatics, technology and Earth Science and applying
research to real-world problems. This fellowship provides students a
chance to work closely with professionals in an interdisciplinary,
cross-sector group on current Earth Science problems.
The students will become engaged in their respective group
as rapporteurs, documenting the work of the group on the
monthly telecons and at the semi-annual meetings (Summer/Winter).
